About Me

My photo
Artist Ann
As a self taught Birmingham, Alabama based artist, Ann‘s work reflects her passion for color and the energy that is created from its unique lapping and overlapping of layers. The vivid use of color to create mood is reflected in many of Ann’s pieces. She uses a variety of techniques for a certain look to her paintings. Although she has a wide variety of subject matter, she favors landscapes and gardens because she is happiest when painting outdoors. Whether she is working with a still life or landscape, Ann is always fascinated by texture, form, and color which she uses in expressing how she feels about what she is seeing. She does not limit herself in what she paints or how she might interpret what she sees. This freedom allows her work to move from representational to minimalist to abstraction.
